There are many uses for ZIP files:

Checkbox Multiple File Consolidation ... ZIP files help reduce "many files" into one ".zip" file.
Checkbox Organization & Efficiency ... ZIP files make it easier to eMail, transfer and/or distribute multiple file, because they're "zipped" (or combined) into one single ".zip" file.

Size Reduction ... ZIP files also help decrease the size of the file or files you "ZIP" into one ".zip" file. For example, you might zip one file that is 4 MB in size; after you "zip it," the final ".zip" final might be 3.5 MB in size or or smaller!

You can zip just about any file, of any type and of any size! You can zip Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint slide presentations, images, audio files, video files, website files, template files, software programs, etc.

In order to create a ".zip" file, you need file zipping software. Now, be aware, there are free programs that can zip and unzip files for you and there are programs that cost you a little bit of money. One of my favorite (free) software programs that I use to zip and unzip files is called 7-ZIP. You can use 7-Zip for free on any computer, including computers in commercial organizations. Nice!
