Sendy is a self hosted email newsletter application that lets you send trackable emails via Amazon Simple Email Service (SES). This makes it possible for you to send authenticated bulk emails at an insanely low price without sacrificing deliverability.
WHAT’S THE PROBLEM?
Your subscriber base is growing and so is the cost per campaign with some other eMail/autoresponder service, such as Aweber, GetResponse, MailChimp, etc. Going for the monthly plan means wasting more money if you don’t send newsletters regularly enough. Suppose you wanted to give your list a break, and not email them for a few weeks/months? You still have the monthly bill to pay with your eMail list provider. Plus, the bigger your subscriber base becomes, the more expensive it is to communicate with them, per se.
WHAT’S THE SOLUTION?
Sendy is a self hosted application that runs on your web server. Pay once and it’s yours, there’s no recurring fee. All you need is an Apache server running a Unix like operating system (eg. Linux) with PHP & MySQL support. Almost all hosting companies support them.
IS SENDY EASY TO SET UP?
HOW MUCH DOES SENDY COST?
Sendy is yours to keep after a one time payment of $59 (at the time of this writing). You can then save money thereafter per month for any list you build.
HOW CAN YOU USE SENDY?
If you like using another autoreponder service, such as Aweber, GetResponse, MailChimp, etc., use them for what you need them for, such as opt-in form creation. But, then perhaps on a weekly/monthly basis, export those lists out of those accounts and import them into Sendy. Since sendy has an unlimited capacity for building an eMail list to the sky, don’t risk one of those other third party accounts going over certain subscriber limits. Hence, bumping up your monthly fee.
You can also use Sendy in conjunction with Opt-in Panda, a WordPress plugin eMail list-building content locker. There’s even a Sendy WordPress plugin that provides an easy, lightweight widget to let your website visitors and users sign up for your Sendy eMail list. Sendy also works with a number of other third-party software programs and systems, so be sure to check them out.
